Mojave Desert – blog 31 – VanLife

We actually went to the Mojave Desert Natural Preserve before Joshua Tree NP, and Dans desert but I forgot to make a post for it. Better late then never right?

We pulled in around mid day. We headed out to the sand dunes. Because when you think of desert you think of sand dunes right? Well that’s what I used to think of when I was a kid growing up. Had a gloomy rainy day. Made for this cool picture.

There was just enough sun light to really bring out the sand ripples in the sand. You can also see the rain in front of the mountain range that slowly made its way on top of me.

Stayed the night next to these enormous boulders which was pretty awesome! Probably one of my favorite camp sites thus far. We were lucky enough to have some amazing light and sunset! I was blown away. Here they are.

Next morning we took a ride down to the lava tubes. Also a cool experience to see how the light enters one of the natural holes in the lava tube

That pretty much sums up our stay here at the Mojave Desert Natural Preserve.
