Joshua Tree National Park- blog 31 – VanLife

We made it to Joshua Tree. Let’s see what all the hype is about. I had one goal and one goal only. To get a nice sunset with a j tree and boulders in the background. Here’s how it went.

We spent 2 days in and out of the Joshua Tree NP. First day we got there right in time for sunset but there was not a cloud in the sky. I was able to find a Joshua tree that was blooming! Pretty cool to see being that these trees don’t necessarily bloom every year. It all depends on how their winters go and how much rain they got. Out of all the thousands of J Trees I only saw 3 that were blooming. Here’s one at golden hour on the north west side of the park

I decided to get up for the sunrise and spend my morning at Barker dam. Yup, water in a desert. Yet again, not a cloud in the sky. But it was a beautiful peaceful morning over this pond.

After my beautiful morning here, made breakfast and hit the Hidden Valley Trail. Pretty cool trail.

It’s spring time!

We then headed out of the park because we done everything we had to do on this side of the park. Bianca needed to work and there is no signal inside the park. Gave me down time to post process my photos.

Headed back into the park a few hours before sunset to scout a spot I wanted for the sunset. The sun is setting at there are clouds in the sky! Could it be the moment I’ve been waiting for?

Ahh yes it happened! Super happy with the photos I came out with. Here are a few

Golden hour

Nice sunset!

I would have tried some astrophotography but it was a full moon which is nearly impossible to shot stars with a full moon.
