Lake Havasu City, AZ – blog 29 – VanLife

Wow! I’m loving Lake Havasu City on the western boarder of Arizona! The landscapes are amazing here. You have some Arizonian mountains split by the Colorado River then views of Californian mountains! Gorgeous! Here’s a shot from the golden hour the other day

I started wandering away from our camp site to get this shot. My original plans were to hike to the Colorado River to get a good shot but little did I know I stopped here and already walked 4.2 miles! Little over an hour of hiking by myself. Saw many big cat prints in the sands in the washes. I decided to leave before the sun fully set since I had and hour hike back to the site with no lights. I was not upset with the outcome of this shot!

Made it back to camp fine. No sightings of big cats. Just in time to make dinner!!

The following day we went to a new camp spot. A spot where some Instagram friends told us to check out. They said there’s a bunch of people hanging out with a big bon fires and lots of beer drinking. How does that not sound like fun?! So we hit up that area called Craggy Wash BLM land, which is the best land. Come to find out we did not find the bon fire, or the people all drinking beer. There were tons of boondockers out here tho. The road was over 3 miles long weaving in and out of the mountains with camp site all along the road. This is where we have been staying for 2 nights. Let’s see how long we will be here.

Our Instagram friends that recommended this spot to us just told us that there coming back to this area. Let’s see if we can meet up with them and have a few beers.

I’ve been wanting a sunset picture with the Colorado River and a mountain back drop. So yesterday afternoon I drove around to 2 spots looking for a good spot but found out I couldn’t get to where I wanted to be. About to call it I pulled into this parking lot and found this gem. At first I didn’t find it very photogenic (don’t get me wrong it was a beautiful place but some places just don’t do its justice in pictures) but kept exploring the area and it kept getting better. Since it is the first day of spring I’ve been looking for a blooming flower that shows its spring time! I happen to find the only cactus in the park and it had a few blooming flowers!!

The water was really that blue! And it was casting a reflection of the water to the clouds. It was unreal. The sun was covered up by the clouds so no real sunset for this shot but still was gorgeous.

While I was walking to find this spot I did stop by along the bank. The water was crystal clear!! The sun was casting a beautiful golden glow and sun rays coming from the gaps of the clouds. Another beautiful sight.
