February 11th
Well good thing I did not stay at that spot I thought in the mountains. I woke up today the van was covered in snow the parking lot that I meant there was no snow in sight when I parked now it is covered. You can take a look into the mountains where I was and is completely white. I probably would have been stuck there.
We have been on the road for 5 or 6 months and believe it or not, out of all the freezing and below freezing temps we’ve been in, this is one of the first mornings I wake up with snow all over the van. Dropped below 25*F and the winds almost flipped over the van while parked like a tumbleweed. We have been trying to dodge the cold weather but can’t seem to escape it.
Made it to my next stop. Funny encounter on the way here. There was this guard both station to enter the area. And a sign that reads “No weapons” and 2 other things “NO” to. I tell the military gentleman in the both that I do have a firearm in the back for personal/home defense. His reply is “And where are you going” I politely say “to the national forest up the street. My GPS says 5 miles” he asks for my ID. He says “you are good to go just DO NOT MAKE ANY LEFT HAND TURNS” I confirm with him “thank you very much sir, I will not make any left hand turns.” He let me by and I was on to my original spot in the national forest. I was thinking to myself the ride up what could be on the left side that I cannot enter. After finding the spot I wanted I looked it up. And it’s pretty interesting. This area was a top secret location developed in 1943 durning world war 2, for bomb design. And is used today to develop nuclear weapons. Hmmm. Here’s my camp for the day/night. Views of the snowy mountains.
