We are in the Sin City, Las Vegas Nevada. We’ve been here for a week or so, took a vacation and flew back home. Bianca had a friend of hers wedding to film. Me, I just came home because my family had been having a tough time with what’s going on back at home. So I chose to fly back and be with them for a few days. And plus it has been 95+*F in Vegas (~90*F at 9PM!). No fun when living in a van.
While we were there before our flight home, we started doing delivery’s for Postmates. Postmates is basically an app where customers order food, or pretty much anything they want and don’t want to leave the house for. We go pick it up and deliver it to their door. It was surprising to see what people order. We’ve picked up from 2 large popcorns, pretzel bites and a hot dog from a movie theater, to sushi in a high class hotel, and from bird seeds at Albertsons to cleaning supplies at CVS. They basically pay you by time and mileage while on the delivery, and plus the tip the customer leaves for us. We figure it would be a way to make a little money while on the road. It really came in handy in Vegas because I wanted to drive around looking at all the buildings and what not so what better way to do so while getting paid. And also sit in the front cab with the a/c cranked on us. Postmates was having a deal where if you complete 30 delivery’s in 30 days they guarantee you will make at least $300, or they will pay you the difference. So we figured why not. Before leaving Vegas we completed 22 delivery’s in 3 days, so leaves us with 8 left. When will we do them? Not sure. Gonna try to get out of this heat in Vegas.
We are heading to Indiana. Yup, Indiana. Across pretty much the whole country. Why you ask? Well you see in Indiana there’s a gentleman who built a roller coaster in his backyard for his grandchildren. It is claimed that people used to fly from all around the world to ride his backyard roller coaster. On Bianca’s bucket list she has written down to ride a roller coaster with a flip on it. Go figure this one has a flip. So she contacted him in the winter of 2017 and he replied that he only operates the roller coaster in spring and summer. So that’s where we will be headed.
I guess it will all depend on the climate if we make stops along the way in Utah and such. I didn’t want to miss spring time in the PNW (Pacific North West) but looks like I’ll take one for the team. Gotta compromise.
After Indiana we will be headed back north west, not sure if we’ll stay in the US or hit Canada yet. Probably stay in the US.
Time to hit the olé dusty trail.
