Today we are sleeping in a bit. We want to visit the Boquilas canyon/ Rio Grand village area today. Starting at the Boquilas Canyon Overlook. That was pretty neat because standing on the U.S. side you can look over the river and into Mexico where they have a small town, and a few Mexicans hanging out with their horses. Next was the Ernst Tinaja. A little more than a 1 mile hike through a canyon, which leads to these large pools of water that rarely go dry, despite its in the middle of a dessert. These pools were created by water and sediment rushing through the canyon many years ago. Now these pools serve as drinking water for many wild animals. Last we went to a natural hot spring. It was pretty relaxing hanging out in the 105*F water when its 66*F outside. All in all it was a good day. We want to try and paint the Chisos Mountains tomorrow. Lets see how that goes.
